Hi there,
I’m Margo
I’m just a 20-year-old from small town Minnesota with a big heart for people and missions! I'm someone who loves exploring different cultures, building meaningful relationships, and seeing how God is at work around the world. I enjoy learning new languages, building new connections, and embracing opportunities to grow through new experiences. In my daily life You can probably find doing art, hanging out with my awesome family, or attempting something way outside of my skill level. But above all, my desire is to follow Jesus faithfully and love others well, wherever He leads. This website is my place to share that journey—the lessons He is teaching me, and the mission He has brought me into. Also to invite others to join through prayer and encouragement. I'm so glad you're here!
My Story
Though I am someone who loves missions now, being a missionary is not something I ever dreamed I would end up doing with my life. But God loves surprising us and challenging our view of what we can do for Him. In fall of 2023 after a short sightseeing trip to Japan with my Aunt and Uncle, I started seeing the world and missions through a different perspective. That wasn’t the first time I had been overseas, but it was the first time I had been in a culture that didn’t know Jesus. But it’s not just Japan that needs Jesus, I started seeing it other places too. You walk by people every day that have never heard the gospel, or people that know God but have no one to help them navigate their relationship with Him.
So in spring in 2025 I gave into God’s calling on my life and decided to do a 6-month discipleship training school (DTS) with a global Christian mission’s organization called YWAM (youth with a mission). Three months spent in a little classroom in Japan learning about the Bible, building a relationship with God, and serving and praying for others. Then 3 months sharing all of that and putting it into practice at churches and in the community. Two months in Nagasaki, and one month in Korea spent entirely in ministry. Since then, I have seen God move in miraculous ways and I am more sure about His goodness and grace than I have ever been.
Though my heart grew in the Lord and it changed my life for the better, I was once again broken hearted by the lack of God’s love being shown in humanity. But there is something that every one of us can do about it. Whether in America, Mexico, Taiwan, or to your own neighbors, we are all called to share the gospel and the reason for the hope we have in our hearts. There are wounds all of us carry that only Jesus can heal, but we can be an example and testimony of what life and healing from Jesus is like. That is the calling on every single Christian’s life.
The Current Mission: Korea
After I got back from my 6 month mission trip, I asked God about the His next steps for me and where He might take me next to follow His call. After lots of time spent in prayer— doors opened, prayers were answered, and I can be sure of God’s leading me on this next step to Busan, South Korea. South Korea earned a special place in my heart after my first visit there in July of 2025. It was my first month in full-time ministry, and it couldn’t have been a better beginning. As I spent time serving, learning, and listening, I sensed God gently directing my heart toward this nation in a way I hadn't expected. I developed a deep love and appreciation for the culture, history, people, and faith community of Korea.
Today, South Korea is home to thriving churches, rich traditions, and vibrant cities, yet like every nation, it is also filled with people searching for hope, purpose, and belonging. My desire isn't to bring God somewhere He isn't already working—it's to join what He is already doing, serving alongside local believers, building meaningful relationships, and sharing Christ's love in everyday life. This journey is not just about traveling overseas, but giving God my time, trust, and capabilities to use how He sees fit.
Why Korea?
Why Korea matters
❀ South Korea has one of the strongest Christian heritages in Asia, about 30% of modern-day Korea is Christian. You will find churches all around Korea, and Korea is still a top missionary sending country. Despite this, there has been a steady decline in church attendance, and more and more young adults are stepping away from the faith. This has opened up ample opportunity for ministry and discipleship.
What I’ll be doing
❀ I’ll be going to Busan South Korea for 12 weeks, August-November. I will be partnering with a Christian mission’s organization, YWAM (youth with a mission). Every day will look a little different, but I will be working alongside YWAM Busan mostly in university, young adults, youth, and cafe ministry. I’ll continue to work hard to learn the language and culture and help serve wherever there is a need.
My prayer
❀ My hope is to walk alongside both Koreans and internationals, build meaningful relationships, serve the church and community, and share the hope of Christ through everyday life and discipleship. I’m looking forward to growing deeper in my personal relationship with God during this time as well. Please pray for my transition into this new season of life, and lots of grace and wisdom for navigating a new culture and language. Pray that God would bring new friendships and open lots of doors for connection and sharing the gospel.
